Dad passed away recently. He didn't have many living relatives so he left his estate to to me. It's a few million. He wasn't well off but went through a lot and saved up and worked his entire life until his late 80s. He inherited some money from my aunt too. That's a big portion of it right there.

He told us before he passed that he wanted to leave it all to me and wanted my sister and her children to get nothing. He was very angry with her and the way she was raised her family. My niece and nephew aren't bad kids but they're very different from my children. My daughter is an engineer and my son is in law school. My brother in laws daughters are a hairdresser and a tattoo artist. Not what my father wanted for his great grandkids. He was infuriated about it too because this is what happens when you send your kids to a bad public school instead of private school. He went off about it many times.

My sister is really upset over it. She's calling me a jerk and such but I had nothing to do with this. He made this decision and he left even less to her than the grandkids. She gets $10,000 which won't even cover the cost of his funeral.

My wife is also mad. She kept asking what we would do with the money and I said buy a nice house. She said that's it? What will the kids get? What will their cousins get? What about us? We have no debt so we don't need the money. I told her she has no right to question my father's decisions. I can tell she's mad at me but I'm just following his instructions. He did leave money for my mom but my wife doesn't know about that. She just wants to know why I'm not getting the money and she made a comment about how she's not in charge of saving and investing when I work a 70 hour week in the office.

I don't know what to say to my sister. I feel bad and like I'm responsible but I'm not. I'm just following instructions.

My wife I'm just avoiding because this isn't my fault and I don't want to argue.
