Sister is going out of the country for over a year... I won't see her until this young is grown

In my case, I have a sister that is literally my best friend and like a soulmate. She is the only person I have ever been able to connect with, and I love her more than anyone else on this planet. She is leaving for Canada in a couple of days for school and she won't be back over there for over a year... She'll be gone before our soon-to-be born baby is born and won't see their first steps, words, anything... I feel really sad over this because I always dreamed we would be able to raise our kids together and they could be best friends. Anyways, just wanted to share that.
