CMV: Wearing a mask is an easy step to help stop the spread of coronavirus. This should apply to everyone, not just grocery store workers.

Instead of requiring grocery stores to provide masks to employees, everyone who enters the store should be required to wear a mask. The simple fact is that you are putting everyone else in the store, including essential employees, at risk if you do not wear a mask. If you do not want to wear a mask, stay home. This rule should obviously apply to everyone, but it is more important for employees that have to be at the store during the pandemic. The Washington Post ran an article titled "Grocery workers don’t want to be heroes during the COVID-19 crisis. We want protections." This is exactly what they need, along with many others, to prevent the spread of the virus. This is obviously a broad issue that affects everyone, not just grocery stores.<br><br>Edit: Wearing a mask will prevent the spread of the virus to others when you are talking or coughing. When a masked person is talking to someone without a mask, the mask does nothing.<br><br><br><br>Edit: When I originally made this post, I was under the impression that masks could protect you from catching the virus. After many people have commented about it, I learned that the main purpose of masks is to protect the people around you from catching the virus. This is my fault for not researching it well enough.
