Who and where are the meta-AI people who think that AI will soon be able to help humans with scientific discovery?

There seems to be a lot of comments from people on this sub that are supremely bullish on how quickly AI is going to revolutionize science. I am the chief technical officer of a biotech company and have been using AI for 20 years, and I have to be frank, I think a lot of these claims are wildly exaggerated. I see nothing in commercial or academic science that leads me to believe that AI can actually beat a human and discover new scientific facts. I am seeing meta-AI people claim that AI is "advancing" science or "helping" scientists. If this is the case, there should be thousands of papers in academic journals that show significant "AI-driven" scientific breakthroughs, but I see none.

I am not saying that AI will never be capable of this, but I am saying right now that all of the AI and meta-AI people who claim that AI is helping scientists is not actually happening, and those claims are wildly exaggerated. If meta-AI is actually capable of doing science, I would love to see what science is being done.
