AITA for giving a rude comment to a girl in my class because she said something racist?

So, there is this girl in my class. She's white. I'll call her Jenn. I honestly don't have a problem with her till this happened. She said something racist in front of everyone and when people asked her to retract it, she didn't but when someone said she was racist, she said "I don't care if you don't like me, I am not racist, I am just telling the truth" then she looked at a black girl in our class and said "You are not going to get me to shut up, so are you going to move to another country or something?" I was really mad at this because I felt like she targeted that girl on purpose and I think it was horrible.<br><br>The next day, I saw her in the hallways and I said "I bet your great-great grandparents would be really proud of you, you stupid racist bitch, saying something like that". I did not raise my voice or swear at her, I just said it in a calm manner. She started crying and told everyone to give me a break because "I am a nice person, I don't deserve to be called like that". Some people defended the girl I was talking to, saying what I said was harsh but she deserved it.<br><br>Some people felt bad for her though. They said she didn't mean it and I should have talked to her privately about it. They said I made her cry in front of everyone and it wasn't fair.<br><br>I honestly think what she did was horrible and she didn't apologize for it either. She said she was going to tell my school counselor about what I said and I feel bad because I do not like trouble.<br><br>Tldr: I told a rude comment to a girl who said something racist in my class. Now I am worried about getting in trouble and I don't know if I am in the wrong.<br><br>Update: I want to clarify that I did not intentionally try to get her in trouble or get her to cry. I'm not racist, I have many friends who are different colors. I'm mixed race myself. I just don't like people who say things like her, she could have said what she did in a private setting. I'm sorry if my words hurt her. I was just angry at the moment.
