Why are people defending the terrorists who tried to invade Israel? They started the war against Israel and failed and now people are saying that Israel is carrying out genocide against the Palestinian people?

Dont get me wrong, I am sad that there are civilian casualties but this is what happens during war. The terrorists crossed the border, attacked civilians, and kidnapped many people. Now Israel is trying to get their civilians back and is trying to finish off Hamas once and for all.
