Guy I used to date showed up to my house last night

This happened last night around 2am, and I can't seem to shake the feeling I got when I listened to him outside the door. <br> For context, I used to date this guy for 3 years, and he was obsessed with me. Any picture I posted on instagram or facebook, he was the first to like it. He thought I was the most beautiful girl alive, and used to tell me that a lot. I was 18 when we met, he was 21. 2 years into our relationship, things started to take a turn, and at first I didn't realise it. My best friend pointed it out to me, that he was controlling. He would always call me and I would always answer, and he would get mad at me if I didn't pick up. He wanted to know where I was, always. Even when I was at work, he would ask me what I was doing, and why was I so busy. My best friend told me that I needed to leave him, and I didn't believe it at first. All it took was for him to hit me. It was a hard hit, that left a bruise on my cheek. I reported him, and broke up with him. I blocked him on all my socials, blocked his number, and that's when he started showing up to my house. I would be in my room, and hear the doorbell ring. I would look through the ring camera and see him. I didn't answer. He started showing up more and more, and at random hours of the day and night. I got a restraining order against him, and I told everyone I knew to keep an eye out for him. At one point I had the police to my place 4 times a week. He got arrested for breaching the restraining order, and was let out, 2 days later. He stopped showing up, and he didn't show up for 9 months. Until last night. I was woken up at 2am, and heard the doorbell ring, but didnt hear anyone on the ring camera, but when I listened to the door, I could hear him whispering "my love, my love" over and over and over again. I called the police, and they showed up and he was gone. I know I'll probably never see the back of him, but this was so strange, and I just had this awful feeling while listening to him talk. <br> He was my first boyfriend.
