AITA for telling a coworker her behavior is why women are treated like they don’t wear pants.

My coworker (22f) had a meeting with our boss and went on a little rant about how she hates the way she is treated as a woman. I don’t blame her and I agree that she should not be treated a certain way because of her sex. She then went on to say that she will not put anything back in the supply closet when she uses something, because “she is a woman and shouldn’t have to do all the chores.”

I (28f) am in charge of the supply closet and I actually trained her on how to use the cart system we use to keep everything clean and organized. I also work with the supplies everyday and it is super annoying to me that she doesn’t put things back where they go.

So after she complained to our boss about this, I asked a follow up question. I said, “So are you saying you’re willing to be treated like crap because you don’t want to do chores?” She looked really confused and said no. I pointed out the contradiction and said that her actions were actually causing more people to treat women like they don’t wear pants. She got mad at me and said I was an AH.

Later on my boss called me in to discuss the issue and I explained how I trained her and how I use the supplies everyday. She said that I should let it go because I’m not the only one who uses the supplies and that I shouldn’t be the only one to put things back. I said that it actually just makes it worse when everyone puts things back willy nilly. It makes it look like a mess and people don’t want to use the supplies because they think it’s a waste of time to look for what they need.

My boss said that this isn’t the first time she’s heard complaints about me being petty and I’m making a big deal over nothing. I asked if that was why she was siding with the other girl instead of taking my side and she said I was overreacting and being dramatic.

I don’t think I’m overreacting or being dramatic but I want to know if I’m an AH for calling her out in front of our boss. AITA?
