I used to work at Kettle Chips in the UK. The flavourings are done by eye and the seasonings are poured onto the chips by an operator as they emerge from the fryer (after the oil has been sprayed off). If the operator pours too much seasoning onto the first batch of chips, there’s nowhere for the extra to go except into your little bag.<br><br>EDIT: I don’t know if I have a flair in the right place or not, I haven’t posted a thing on Reddit for about 4 years….<br>Also, The whole factory used to shut down when the Frazzles had to be made. God knows what was in them. <br><br>EDIT 2: I’ve learned a lot about crisps from you guys, cheers!
