The "kill all men" meme is harmful. Stop saying it.

The "kill all men" meme was funny when I first saw it. It was an easy joke to understand for those who don't know the first thing about feminism, or the reasons for feminism. I guess that's its redeeming qualities. It got more people talking to each other.

But the meme is problematic. I see people on Chambers, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms saying it more often than not, usually in regards to what the Catholic Church is doing. The Church is full of men, it's run by men, and the hierarchy is men. It's led by a man who has hundreds of charges of pedophilia against him.

But saying "kill all men" takes attention away from solutions to these problems. Instead of "kill all men", let's get rid of the patriarchal systems that lead to these problems. Let's create matriarchal systems. Let's make the world a better place for all humans. The phrase is a solution that is more in line with patriarchal systems and is problematic in that way. It's easy to say "kill all men" and get it out of your system, but that's not a solution that will help anyone in the long run.

Let's just kill all of existence.
