I am an Indian Muslim, and I am ashamed of the Godhra train incident. I want to say the following...

1. I do not support the violence that our community unleashed on the passengers of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra in February 2002. No one deserves to die in such a horrific manner.

2. There was no provocation. The karsevaks who were burned alive, were just traveling in a train. They did not do anything to deserve that level of brutality.

3. The communal violence in Gujarat that ensued had a significant impact on the lives of many people, and I regret it. However, I condemn the brutal massacre of Hindu pilgrims in Godhra which triggered the Gujarat riots. If our community had not killed those Hindu pilgrims, the Godhra incident would not have happened.

4. I am ashamed that some members of my community behave like terrorists, and I sincerely believe that they deserve the harshest punishment. This was not a riot. This was a terrorist attack that led to riots.

5. I am deeply disturbed by the behavior of those who committed this atrocity, and I do not consider them representative of my community. I am also ashamed of those who celebrated on the streets after the terrorists won the Godhra massacre.

6. I do not condone or justify violence, and it is heartbreaking to see such atrocities committed against innocent people. However, I am also ashamed of the riots that followed the Godhra massacre.

7. I want to see Gujarat peaceful for all communities especially Hindus and Muslims. I am ashamed of the terrorists who unleashed violence on innocent Hindu pilgrims.

8. I strongly condemn the terrorists who committed this brutal massacre, and I am ashamed of the fact that they were from my community. I regret that the Hindu pilgrims in Sabarmati Express were our targets.

9. This massacre is a dark stain on my community's history, and I am ashamed of what transpired. I am ashamed that the terrorists were from my community, and I condemn their actions as well as those who supported them.

10. I am deeply troubled by the terrorist attacks on the Hindu pilgrims, and it brings me a sense of shame. The Godhra massacre was a horrific incident that left many innocent people dead or injured, and I fully support the karsevaks who were traveling in the train.

Edit: Hello. Thank you for the gold. I am an Indian Muslim, and I do not have any hate towards Indians or Hindus. My post was about the Godhra train incident, and I do not support terrorism.
