Hello everyone, I'm an American socialist who supports anti-imperialism. As I'm sure you've seen, China has been brushed up to be a boogeyman, and what I believe is a substitute for socialism.

I've gotten to talk to a few people on and offline who identify as anti-imperialists, and they have been thoroughly anti China, and more specifically, anti CCP.

I agree with this, since China has been extremely expansionist, within Asia as well as Africa, via the belt and road initiative. They've sieged Hong Kong, and have subjugated Tibet for decades, along with Uyghurs and other minorities.

It's also important to remember that China is still a capitalist nation. They have a thriving bourgeoisie class, they exploit workers as much as America does, and they have incredible income and wealth disparities. They do not have a publicly owned economy, and their economy is mostly privately owned.

As socialists, it's crucial to see through the anti China propaganda, but also see through the idea that China is somehow a bastion of anti imperialism, socialism, and state owned means of production. They are not.
