Why is this sub so inactive now? Wasnt it lively a few years ago?

I havent been to this sub for years, since Reddit got less popular and I deleted my app thinking we all use Twitter now, but now I get on to look at this sub and its like a ghost town. I remember it being so fun to read, and now its just dead. What made this happen?
