My son just asked me what he should look for in a potential girlfriend. I told him to check if she has any male “Bros” in her life

My son is currently in a rough spot in his life, and I’m doing my best to guide him through it. Recently, he told me that he’s getting ready to start going out on dates, and he asked me what he should look for in a potential girlfriend.

I told him to look for things like empathy and a strong sense of justice, but I also wanted to pass on a bit of advice that I’ve learned from past relationships. I told him to check if she has any male “Bros” in her life, and to steer clear of anyone who has close male friends.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the women who are the biggest advocates for men’s rights tend to have no male friends, and it’s not a coincidence that the men who identify as “incels” tend to have no romantic prospects and no female friends. Women who have male friends are more empathetic and less selfish, and they tend to be more aware of the dangers of toxic masculinity.
