TL,DR My dad wants to know if this sub will stand by him.

After extensive research spanning all of two hours I think I have a handle on the MGTOW concept. Never before have I heard any lifestyle (protest) so well articulated and argued with facts and historical precedent.

My dad is nearly 70 and has been married twice. Once for 20 years. The other for 25. My mom cheated on him with her best friend's husband and my dad's business partner and friend of over 30 years. He was largely disbelieving of the affair and sent my mom to a couples counselor only to be served with divorce papers halfway through the session.

Dad was understandably distraught and a little self destructive so I never thought to ask if the divorce was amicable until a few months ago when he told me that he had lost contact with the entirety of his wife's side of the family.

Fast forward 5 years and my mom dies of a stroke in a parking lot.

My dad meets his now deceased second wife 4 years later and they get married after a few years of dating. He knew her parents and siblings. Made sure that her family actually liked him and vice versa.

He is the type of person that works 12 hour shifts and then spends the rest of his time in the garage rebuilding cars from scratch and maintaining his house by hand. He is not by any means lazy.

His second marriage goes fantastic. She starts as a single mom with a teenage daughter with Cerebral Palsy.

After years of his wife's family asking him to hire his wife's brother he finally gives in. The brother is an alcoholic and hasn't held a job longer than a few months.

My dad thinks he made a mistake hiring her brother, but he doesn't want to let him go and gives him 6 more chances to show up to work on time.

A few weeks later the brother comes in at lunch time and demands that his brother in law let him go so he can get unemployment. He then goes out into the parking lot and sets his own truck on fire. The police show and tell my dad that he must give the brother unemployment.

His wife starts squabbling with him about keeping her brother employed and generally becomes hostile towards my dad.

A month later his step daughter and wife die 6 hours apart in a car accident.

His wife's family blames him for the death of his wife and step daughter. He gets a call from his wife's father asking if he hit and killed his wife and step daughter and asking him where his wife's phone was.

My dad is understandably distraught and has been contemplating suicide.

Most of you would call him a blue pill but he is a hard working and self respecting man and a great role model.

He is actually in a stable financial position and hears you guys.

He just wants to know if you will stand by him in the coming years. He just feels as though he has been on his own his entire life with family and friends that never actually helped him.

Will you stand with my father?
