Here’s a quick story about how I bought and sold my bullpup within a day. I’m not suggesting bullpups are bad, I’m just not for me.

I sold it because it was clear to me that I’d never take it to the range again, so I should just sell it. After about 3 years of disappointment, I finally came to this conclusion.

I bought my Tavor at the height of the Covid lockdowns. At the time it was what I thought was a cheap price of $1500. I wanted it because it was my understanding that bullpups were very accurate, reliable, and durable.

I put about 400 rounds through it. It was sort of fun to shoot, but I just never enjoyed it. First of all, being right handed, loading the mag was a bit tricky. I got good with practice, but it was more difficult than I thought it’d be. Second, I’d experience a lot of stoppages. In fact, I could usually count on a stoppage every 2-3 mags. Lastly, it was heavy (I didn’t have the shorter barrel version).

So, I waited for about 3 years to get a chance to take it to the range again. I just bought a fresh lower and put a cheap upper on it. And of course, I got a stoppage on the first mag. I did a quick “tactical reload” and then got another stoppage. I got frustrated and put it away. I didn’t even bother finishing the other 5 mags I brought. It was at this point I knew I should just sell it and buy a better AR.
I sold it yesterday for $1800.

EDIT: To clarify, it was a SAR. I just realized I didn’t mention the manufacturer.
