The gun control debates got me to thinking about my experiences with firearms and guns. We had a lot of firearms in my house growing up. My dad was a great hunter and gunsmith. He took me hunting a lot, and I really enjoyed shooting and hunting. But one experience really stuck with me.

I was at the mall with my friend and his family. We were in the food court when a guy walked by holding a hunting rifle. I don't think he was carrying it, he was more like dragging it. He was acting erratically. We thought he was drunk or high. We didn't think much of it at the time, but it was weird to see.

We went to the movies at the mall. It was a mall with a built in cinema. We were in the theater when we heard the report of a rifle shot, followed by the screams of people. It was a few stores over, maybe two doors down.

I'm shocked no one was hurt. I don't know why he shot the gun. We didn't see him after that. It could have ended in tragedy.

I think the gun control debate is pretty polarizing. I don't think banning guns is going to solve the problem. I think we can have more stringent background checks. I'm not sure what the solution is. I have mixed feelings about it.
