Universities should shut down during the holidays

Why on earth are universities open and holding class during the holidays? Everyone is off work of school during the holidays and they expect university students to be focused on anything but the holidays? The library on campus is obviously closed, the cafeteria is closed, and the university is really strict on group work and group meetings. These meetings cannot take place on university property. The majority of people on campus are not going to class during the holidays. The holidays are either on campus during the holidays with no food, no library to study, or they are going to class. Ffs, they either need to shut down and go on a holiday break, or do something to accommodate for students whos family lives hours away and can’t come down to campus for class. <br><br>This is the first time my university isn’t shutting down during the holidays. My student fees are the same, but my cafeteria is closed and my month long holiday break is only two weeks. So what am I getting for the same price? <br><br>You can say “well drop out of university if you don’t like the holiday break”. But no, I think I’ll keep my degree. <br><br>God I can’t wait to be an alumni and vote “no” on asshole chancellors.
