I am secretly my son's friend on Facebook

I've always had a great relationship with my son. When he went to college, I was sad that he was leaving the house, but knew it was necessary. He could be a bit of a homebody and I maybe babied him a little too much, so I was excited that he was going to spread his wings and become independent. At one of our last dinners, before he left, I asked him to friend me on Facebook. He had a Facebook page, but he never posted anything. He told me that he didn't want his mom on Facebook; it was for his friends. I understood and kind of expected that. But when I mentioned that all his aunts and uncles were on my Facebook page and that it would be a great way for him to keep in contact with the family, he refused and asked me if I could just not go on his page. I was a bit hurt at first, but I understood that he just wanted some space. So I made a second Facebook page with just my name, without my surname attached. This was under the guise of separating work and personal stuff. I then "accidentally" logged into that page one day and sent him a friend request from it. To my surprise, he accepted it. It has kind of become a bit of a joke between us. He knows that I'm aware of his shenanigans and I know that he knows that I know, but we both just ignore it. It's not like he's doing anything wrong, but it's been entertaining. <br><br>EDIT: I understand that many of you do not agree with my decision. I understand that some see this as an invasion of privacy. I do not think that my relationship with my son has been damaged. It would not cross his mind that I would do something like that. We have always been able to speak openly to each other and I hope that continues. I am not some creepy mom. As I stated, he wasn't doing anything wrong. It's been fun. He knows that I am aware of some of the things he does and I think it's amusing. <br><br>Also, please stop messaging me that I should get a life. I do have a life; it's just not yours.
