I dont get women suddenly dating their ex partners again. Why do they always go back to their exes?

I know a lot of women who are extraordinarily proud of suddenly dating their ex partners again. I see them on tiktok all the time. They're so proud and have so much self respect. What the hell? Why would you go back to your ex? It makes no sense. You already broke up with them. So now you're going to have the same relationship that ended up in a breakup? How do you have such little self-respect? I know this also happens with men, but it's mostly women.
