Hi, my wife and I have been together for over a decade. We've had our ups and downs, and never really fought until last year. After that, our relationship has been slowly deteriorating. She has grown more and more cold.

I have a condition called Misophonia. For those who don't know, if someone is chewing on something, and I can hear them, it literally triggers a panic attack. It can escalate into a fight-or-flight response. I've learned to cope with it, and if I can hear someone eating, I simply leave the area.

I recently went to a specialists, who diagnosed me with PTSD. He is not sure how I got it. It could have been from experiences in my childhood, he doesn't really know yet. He says we will probably find out more as I go through therapy.

I told my wife about both diagnoses, thinking that it would help improve our relationship. I believed that she would be supportive, and that it would ease the tension between us. But instead, it has made things worse. When I told her about my PTSD, she asked what triggers it, and I told her that I would rather not say, as it might make her feel like she was walking on eggshells. She insisted, and I told her that sudden noises scared me.

After that, she stopped talking to me. When I came home from work, she would give me a disgusted look and avoid me. I don't know why. I pressed her on it, and she said that she was scared of me now. Scared that I would hurt her or something. I don't know what she means. When she said that, we had never even had a real fight. I was honestly shocked. I have never raised a hand to a woman in my entire life.

I told her that it wasn't like that. That my issues were with hearing people eat, and sudden noises, and that it would not affect our relationship like she was insinuating. She just looked at me, and said she needed some space, and left. She took our dog with her, and has not come back since. I've tried to call her, to see if she needs help with the dog, but she just says she's scared of me.

I don't know what to do. What can I do to make this Ok? Should I just let her have her space, or should I try to get my wife back?
