This is my last post as I’m leaving Reddit. There’s no single reason responsible for this decision so I’m sharing some of the thoughts that have influenced my decision:-<br><br>1. Reddit has encouraged me to delete my previous 15’000 comments and then create a throwaway/alt account to do it.<br><br>2. Reddit has encouraged me to not post on any other subreddits other than r/teachers.<br><br>3. I do not fit in with Reddit’s mission to create a free, impartial encyclopedia/”source of truth”. Reddit regards teachers as being so untrustworthy that they are deleting our comments that reflect our daily lives so that they may create a sanitized version that doesn’t fit our reality. I refuse to lie.<br><br>4. There’s no longer any point to any discussion. I am responsible for so many deleted comments and lost so many hours to the void that it’s no longer worth it. If you respond to this comment/PM then it will probably be deleted anyway so there’s no point in engaging.<br><br>5. I’m sick of the brigading, the constant downvoting of anything I write and the daily report to mods.<br><br>There’s a lot of people who have been removed from this sub and I hope it returns to the community it was and not the echo chamber it is now.<br><br>I wish you all the best.
