I went to a large outdoor gun show today just to see what people were asking for guns and ammo pricing. It's getting worse. Here are some of my observations.

ARs were abundant but expensive. I saw one table that was averaging $1200 for their ARs.

Handguns were everywhere. There were tables that had nothing but handguns and there were a couple that were selling nothing but Glocks. I saw one table with a sign that said "No Handguns $700 or Less!" Seriously, I didn't make that up.

I saw a couple of tables selling bows and several selling knives.

Ammo was bs. I saw boxes of Federal 9mm 115gr going for $60 a box of 50. I saw 223 going for $140 a box of 50. There were several tables selling IMI 5.56 for $120 a box of 20!

I saw tables selling powder, primers and bullets, but at exorbitant prices. I thought the prices I saw were a little high for the gun show pricing, but then I looked at Midway and their prices were pretty close.

As for completed or stripped lowers, I couldn't find a single stripped lower for less than $350. There was one table that was selling their lowers for $450. I saw one table with completed lowers (lower and upper complete) for $650 but they were fixed mag. There were a couple of tables that had CA compliant lowers that were basically a gun with a fixed mag, no pistol grip and a dumb looking device that was supposed to keep the mag in the mag well. Why would anyone buy that?

I saw a table with 30-round mags for $40 a mag. I asked the vendor if he had any 10-round mags and he said he had them for the same price as the 30-round mags. I asked him why anyone would buy the 10-rounders when they could have a 30-round mag for the same price. He said that some people just prefer the smaller mags. I said "Not me" and walked away.

I saw a couple of tables selling 80% lowers, armorer's tools, jig kits, drill press kits, etc. The 80% lowers were going for about double what you would expect to pay for them at retail.

I saw a bunch of the round mags that everybody hates, but I saw very few metal mags.

I saw a table with Barrett 50-cal mags for $250 a mag.

Everybody I saw was either cash or credit card. Nobody I saw was taking Venmo, ApplePay, GooglePay or anything else. I saw one table that had ApplePay but I didn't stop to chat with them.

Ammo cans were everywhere and most places were asking $100 or more for the large cans and $60 or more for the small cans.

I saw a couple of tables selling night vision equipment. One of the tables had some high-tech night vision goggles that were going for $12,000. Yes, you read that right, twelve thousand dollars!

I saw a few tables selling body armor. I saw one table that had a full set of armor for $600. It looked high quality, too.

I saw one table that had riot gas. I thought it was silly until I saw the prices that people were asking for pepper spray. Some of the tables were selling pepper spray for $30 or more. It was a littleSpray that held about an ounce. the stuff I bought at Walmart last year on sale was 3 sprays for $10.

I bought some sights, a red dot and a small flashlight and that's it.
