AITA for taking back the beer I bought for a party by not chilling it?

This weekend, I was invited to a friends birthday party. It's a pretty casual party with some acquaintances and coworkers. I've known the main person for a while and wanted to support them so I was looking forward to it.

She mentioned she was a beer drinker and asked if I had any beer I could bring. I told her I liked beer and asked what kind she liked, was it light/lager, hoppy ipa, fruity wheat, etc. She said she liked it all so I told her the next closest beer store was decent and I could pick up a 6 pack of whatever was on sale. She said that was fine.

I went to the store yesterday picked out a 6 pack of cream ale, it was on sale, so brought it home to put in the fridge to bring with me to the party.

Fast forward to the party. Everyone was chatting and having a good time. I offered the beer around but everyone was talking about how warm it was. Eventually one of the girls who was standing next to me said oh yeah, you guys bought beer right? So I said yeah, I did, it's my fave beer.... and I reached into my bag to pull out the 6 pack.

Everyone started cheering and I put them in my cup so people could try. Everyone was oohing and ahhing over the temperature and everyone was joking about how we were in luck.

At one point I had to get my bag to get another item of clothing out of it. As I grabbed my bag I noticed a few people staring at me. One guy finally said hey, wait a minute... you didn't chill the beer in your fridge before you came did you? I looked at him funny and said oh, I 100% did. I replied in this tone and he just looked at me like I was stupid and said oh wow, you did? He then asked me why I didn't bring a cooler with ice in it. I said I hadn't thought of it. He said wow, what beer store were you at, their signs probably said chill before you bring?

Everyone started giggling and I just said that I'm sorry and went back to mingling.

I felt kinda stupid and ashamed, like I'm such an ah. I'm curious if it's really that unheard of to not chill beer before bringing to a party or if my friends are just messing around.
