18 year olds cannot handle the responsibility of voting.

You cannot join the army without a high school diploma. You cannot join a police force without a high school diploma. But you can join a polling station without one. this doesn't make sense to me. When you are 18 years old you have just graduated or are about to graduate high school. What the hell do you know about the world? What the hell do you know about politics? You can barely take care of yourself. You can't even afford to buy a house for yourself. Many don't even know how to cook or do laundry. Yet we let them decide who runs the country? If anything, the voting age should be RAISED not lowered. It should be raised to at least 25 years old, at which time a person is more likely to have a job, be financially independent, and generally more aware of the world around them. More likely to be a homeowner, more likely to have established their own views on life, and more likely to have an interest in actually bettering the world.<br><br>Edit - this doesn't mean they shouldn't have a voice. It means they shouldn't decide the lives of others. You have a right to a voice. You don't have a right to decide the lives of others.
