I found a disturbing ASMR video in 2008. It might have been real.

Sorry, night shift.<br>I don’t know when it began or ended. Or if it has ended at all. But it began for me in 2008. When I stumbled upon something that would haunt my dreams until the day I die. And everyone in the world might actually die because of it.<br><br>That’s why I’m writing this. I’ve been checking for it for years. It’s gone. No where to be found. But I think in 2008, I found something that wasn’t supposed to be found. And I want to tell you my theory about what it is.<br><br>I remember the first time I heard about ASMR. It was a YouTube video that had an animated woman whispering to me and tapping her fingers on a desk. I was 15 and heavily addicted to video games. At the time, I had an awful time falling asleep. I would stay up late, trying and trying to do anything to get some sleep. <br><br>Then at one point some early morning, I stumbled upon a weird video on YouTube. It was an early iteration of a popular video sharing site. Back in the day, there was more interaction with people who made videos. YouTube wasn’t really popular yet, so we heavily relied on comments to get an idea of what the video was about. So when I stumbled upon a video with no comments, I was alarmed.<br><br>But it had tags, so I opened them. I don’t remember the tags, but I remember they were relevant to the topic. It was ASMR. Most of the comments were just “wow”. No one really had anything to say about it. I decided to give it a shot.<br><br>The video opened with a woman in a white lab coat. She had a head of short black hair that reminded me of a Japanese school girl. But this woman looked to be in her mid 30’s. She was pretty, and I could tell that her lab coat was for show. Her skirt was much too short to be doing anything at a school. Her eyes were bright blue and seemed to lock onto me as she smiled during the intro. I felt heavily attracted to her. She reached out for a white strip of fabric and grinned. That’s when I noticed it. The fabric didn’t match the color of her lab coat. It was light gray, with a blue stripe running through it.<br><br>I’m a nurse. That’s where I am right now, in the break room at my hospital. I’m currently working a night shift, it’s 3am. I’m writing this as a break from the chaos around me. Just a few minutes ago, a patient was wheeled in. They were dead. I think they had a heart attack. I don’t know why, but I think it may be related to what I found in 2008.<br><br>Back to the video. She held the fabric out to the camera, and waved it around. She made whispers, and spoke in a soft voice. She told me to calm down, and to be quiet. To relax. I felt extremely strange, and closed my eyes. I don’t know how much time passed, but I remember it being a while. I opened my eyes, and I was laying on my bed. It was still dark, but the sun was starting to rise over the horizon. I got some sleep, and I felt amazing. I had finally slept, and I was ready to do anything I possibly could to help myself sleep. I decided to go back on YouTube and find the same video again. But it was gone. Poof. Nothing left. I tried to find it for months, but nothing ever came of it. I remember telling someone at school about it, and they told me it was probably just a video that was deleted.<br><br>I went on with my life, until 2014 when I was in nursing school. I had a conversation with one of my teachers, and she mentioned ASMR. It had made a huge comeback, and I had almost forgotten about it. She showed me a video, and I was immediately reminded of that night in 2008. This wasn’t the same video, but I thought to myself “wow, this is just as good as that night.” I watched a few videos, and I got a sense of nostalgia. The mystery wasn’t fun anymore, it was better to just be happy that I could find something similar.<br><br>I received my nursing license in 2016, and I began to work at this hospital. I’ve been a nurse for years now, and I really love it. In fact, I think you’d be surprised at how much you might know of me. I’m a night shift worker, and I’ve seen a lot of things go on when most people are sleeping in their beds.<br><br>During my lunch breaks, I spend most of my time sitting in our break room. It’s a small room, with a few tables and chairs. There’s a few lockers in the back, and a counter with two sinks. There’s also a few refrigerators for us to keep our lunches in. That’s it. But it’s in the middle of the hospital, so it’s easy access to any room. Over the years I’ve worked here, I’ve met a lot of people. We get to know each other pretty well, and we’ve had plenty of conversations. There’s one conversation in particular that stuck with me. One of my coworkers mentioned that they had found a weird ASMR video. But this one was a lot different.<br><br>The video started with a woman in a lab coat, with a head of short black hair. She had bright blue eyes that seemed to lock onto the camera. She reached out for a white strip of fabric and grinned. But this fabric didn’t match the color of her lab coat. It was gray, with a blue stripe running through it.<br><br>I knew exactly what she was talking about. I asked her if she had found it, but she said she couldn’t. I asked her if she remembered the name, but she said the title and description were blank. There was one comment that said “wow”. Exactly like the video I had found 10 years prior. I realized that it might have been real. I’ve spent years searching for it, but to no avail. What if the woman in the video was actually a doctor? What if she was doing this experiment in the dead of night? The patients at this hospital have been getting sleepier lately. We’ve been giving them more and more medication just to keep them under for the night. Tonight, as I write this, a patient died of a heart attack. I don’t think it was a coincidence.<br><br>I want you to go look for it. Try to find it, and watch it. If you can find it, let me know. There’s a lot of videos missing a few things, like the light gray fabric with the blue stripe. I think that’s the main thing I’m looking for. Thank you all again for your hard work.
