Hi! I'd like to get your input on some stuff.

Hey guys, I just posted a longish comment on the "alt incest" thread in the chat and thought you guys might be able to provide some insight as well, so I wanted to just copy and paste it here, and see what you have to say about this topic as well. In a nutshell I wanted to know what you think is the justifiable reasons that incest is frowned upon. Let me know and thank you so much! <br><br>I'm wondering if you guys have ever thought about what would happen if you lived in a society where incest wasn't frowned upon. Something like this:<br><br>You have a brother or sister, and you're very concerned that they're just making terrible dating choices and not being treated very well by their partner. You could then say "Hey, I know you're not having much luck in dating. I think I could be a great partner for you (assuming you have developed feelings for them at this point), I am well established, have good habits, am smart, and I don't think I would ever cheat on you. I promise to treat you well and make you happy, and you could be in charge of planning the dates and what not because you consider yourself the more creative partner." And then your sibling has the option of choosing you as a partner if they end up agreeing with you. <br><br>In the beginning, you could still have the same dating and getting to know each other phase, if you wanted. Just because you grew up together doesn't mean you have to know everything about each other. You could still go on dates, see each other's friends, learn what's important to them, find your common ground, etc. And then if you agree that you have a good match, you can know that you are choosing your life partner, and not just dating someone and then hoping that it works out over the long term. <br><br>I'm just curious what you think about that concept in general. Do you think it would be a positive thing for people in general to be able to have this choice, or just an oddity? <br><br>Also I'm curious if there are any justifiable reasons that incest is frowned upon. I can't really think of any good ones.
