I've never seen anything like this

I teach in a relatively affluent area. Many of my students get new iphones every year, I've had kids with Range Rovers, etc. So this was nothing out of the ordinary for me.

This year one of my students had a Gucci bookbag, that he wore to class every day. A few weeks ago, he got to class a little early and laid the bookbag on his desk. When he got up to do something, a student in the next row over reached into the Gucci bag and took out the wallet (prada I think) and phone (iPhone 14 pro max) and took a $20 and a $50 out of it. He then put both back in the bookbag. The student who owned the bag was a very laid back friendly kid. I was worried that he was going to be angry, but he just laughed and said "oh well, at least he didn't take my $100s" I was floored. I've never seen a kid just have $100 before, much less joke that they were more concerned about losing the $100s than the $70 that was taken.

Edit: I don't even think the Gucci bag is fake. Also, I've never actually counted the money, so it's probably less than that.
