I never knew my mom was a communist.

My mom had been working at a small independent used game store for a bit, and obviously they have a nice collection of vintage consoles and games. One day, I was there with her and they were talking that she was going to go to an estate sale and collect some games for the store. They were talking about who would go and she said "I just got a ride share to come here, so you'll have to take me or I'll have to take an Uber, I don't know how I'll fit all of the stuff in a car."
Well, my mom had a van that she used to use for her old business, but she's mostly retired now, so it wasn't a big deal that she still had it. So I throw out to them "Why don't we just take my mom's van? It's big and she doesn't use it much anymore. I'll drive it down for you two."

So she's talking to the owner and the owner's assistant manager, who I only know by her first name, K, and said "Well there's my son, he offered his van." The owner is a bit of a hard sell, so he asks "Is it in good condition?"
"Well," she says. "He hasn't had a ticket in a while and he's had it for a few months now."
They both laugh a bit and say that the van is fine, and a couple days later they come pick it up. And they had a really good haul, so everybody's happy.
I get home that day, and my mom is acting strange. Usually she'll talk a bit with me about her day, but this time she was really quiet and wasn't saying much even when I was talking to her. Then she finally talks a bit about her day, and drops in there "You know, I got my little revenge today."
"I was in the van all day, and K had her hand on the gearshift the whole time, just so you know."
I had no idea she was a commie until then, the way she acted kinda mad about it...
But I think we both had a good laugh about it after.
