Do people really put sugar in coffee?

I’ve been randomly going through some of my wife’s journals from college and something that was mentioned multiple times was that she would go on dates or coffee with men and she would be shocked by how much sugar they wanted in their coffee. She even went so far as to call them freaks. I don’t put sugar in my coffee, but I’m also not judging people that do.
