The court upheld a 2022 European Commission ruling ordering the tech giant to allow alternative in-app payment systems and to end restrictions on developers reaching customers outside of the App Store. <br><br><br><br>TechCrunch has contacted Apple for comment. <br><br><br><br>The case first garnered attention in 2019 after Fortnite maker Epic Games sued the iPhone maker for removing its game from the App Store over its Direct Pay feature, which skirted Apple's commissions. The company said it would allow third-party app stores on iOS devices in the EU in 2024.
