UPDATE: AITA for refusing to sell something I work on because it's for my sister's birthday.

So I finally gave it to my sister on her birthday and I have to say she looked very happy and beautiful in it. First time I've ever cried on someone else's birthday and not my own.

Anyway, what happened is that the guy who wanted to buy it saw it on my sister. He asked her if he could buy it off of her and offered a very large amount of money. He said that my sister could come to my workshop and pick out something else if she wanted, basically anything she wants. But my sister said no because it was something I made her and I told her if she ever sold that dress, I'd never make her anything again.

I told the guy too that I'd never sell it and he was very confused on why I wouldn't. He said he could get a good profit out of it and stuff. I explained that it was for my sister and he just laughed. He asked me how I was going to get rich if I just gave everything away and I told him I wasn't in it for the money. He just kind of scoffed and walked away.

My sister and I talked about it and we both agreed that we'd go to a different tailor. We both liked the guy and he's done a good job for us in the past but this really changed our minds about him. We're probably going to tell our parents and our friends to stop going to him too.

Also, the original post was locked after a few hours but it got around 30k upvotes. It was really cool to see and it's my first post ever to get any upvotes at all.
