Never give out your phone number to a company as your login information

I get calls from spoofed numbers from people who have "accessed my computer" and need to talk to me about it.
This is a scam. If everyone stopped using their phone as their login security, the scammers would lose a huge portion of their surface for attack. If everyone uses strong security, both password, two factor, this kills these types of attacks. This isn't a problem of the phone companies failing to stop spoofing, it is a result of us not demanding from companies we do business with security systems that aren't completely worthless.

Edit: Wow, a gold from an anonymous person, thanks! Now if I only cared.

Also, to all of those telling me how to stop spoofed calls, I get 3-5 a week and have for 3 years now. It is a total failure on the part of the FCC and phone companies. What I have done is changed how I authenticate.
