I (24/M) have a friend (24/M) who is a shy nerdy guy. He met a seemingly similar girl (22/F) in one of these social club events at university. They had what seemed to be a great time together over this little mini party event that contained quite a lot of topic discussions.

We then learned that this girl (22/F) got hooked to my friend (24/M). Every weekend that we had a party, we'd find them together, and they seemed to have simply *clicked*.

Then one weekend, he invited his girl (22/F) to another one of our parties.

On that night, this happened.

He (24/M) saw the girl (22/F) from across the room, and asked her to follow him. They went to a corner close to some stairs. I (24/M) was drunk enough to not care, so I went closer to them.

The girl (22/F) had this startled face, my friend (24/M) had this blissful face, and he told her that he wanted to "show his heart to her". The girl (22/F) then said "I don't know... I'm just afraid to be hurt."

My friend (24/M) told her that he didn't have anything to hide, that there was nothing that he'd ever thought to hide, and that he never had any reason to deceive anyone in the first place. Then he told her "I love you, and I don't need or want anything in return. I just want you to love me back. I want to love each other."

The girl (22/F) simply looked at him, and bursted into tears. She said that "I don't know what to say or do anymore...". My friend (24/M) held her and comforted her. He told her that she could say anything, and that she had nothing to hide from him.

They then went away, and I (24/M) noticed that my friend (24/M) was in such a good mood for the rest of that night. I (24/M) asked the girl (22/F) if she was okay, and she just shook her head and didn't say anything.

On the following night, I (24/M) received a phone call.

On the other side of the phone call was my friend's (24/M) mom.

She told me that my friend (24/M) wasn't feeling well lately. She asked me if I knew any reason why he wasn't feeling well.

I (24/M) investigated further and learned that my friend (24/M) had become ill, and was unable to wake up. Something about how his muscles were weak for the last two days.

I (24/M) then called the girl's (22/F) number. She (22/F) was seemingly upset and in a panic when she saw my number.

I (24/M) asked her what was going on. She (22/F) told me that she had never "used a heart on anybody before" and that she didn't want to do it "incorrectly" or something.

I (24/M) pointed out that simply "loving someone" doesn't have to be complicated. The girl (22/F) then said that she "just followed her heart" and that she "feared that the love was bad or something".

I (24/M) was a bit confused, and asked her to explain further. She (22/F) said that she "followed her heart" and that she "became a heart", and that became the "heart" of my friend (24/M).

I (24/M) had no idea what she (22/F) said, but the gist of it was that she (22/F) was afraid that she had "joined with my friend's (24/M) heart", and that she didn't know if that was good or bad.

At that point, I (24/M) realized that she (22/F) had done something to injure my friend (24/M), but I (24/M) couldn't understand what exactly she (22/F) did to him.

I (24/M) investigated further and learned that on that night, the heartbroken girl (22/F) had seemingly *put her heart in my friend's (24/M) heart*.

The mom then told me that the doctors have no idea what caused my friend's (24/M) heart problems, and that they think that this girl (22/F) somehow messes up my friend's (24/M) electrical signals.

The doctors told them that my friend (24/M) can't be saved. My friend (24/M) is expected to die of a sudden heart attack or stroke. That's why we had to pull the plug.

My friend (24/M) is now dead.

I (24/M) feel guilty that I didn't do anything to protect my friend (24/M).

I (24/M) just can't understand.

I (24/M) just don't get it.

Why would this girl (22/F) do this?

What was going on in her mind?

Even after everything, I (24/M) still feel guilty that I didn't protect my friend (24/M) when he was hurt by this girl (22/F).

This is all so strange.

The police didn't do anything about the girl (22/F) because the investigation proved that there was nothing harmful intent.

I (24/M) didn't tell the police what I learned, partly because I (24/M) didn't want them to think that I (24/M) was insane.

The girl (22/F) is still heartbroken.

We (24/M+) learned that this girl (22/F) is a "heart type" person.

I (24/M) have no idea what she (22/F) is talking about, but I (24/M) somehow know how she (22/F) feels every time I (24/M) see her (22/F) face.

The point is, my friend (24/M) is gone.

He was a great friend (24/M).

Rest in peace.
