I am Chinese. Living in Europe for quite some time<br>The things I witnessed about China and about the people who pretend to know everything about China... I am amazed by the sheer ignorance<br><br>I swear the majority of Western people believe solely on the news and outing the news sources into their filter bubble. People live happily in their own echo chambers and have zero oversight about their mental imprisonment. They are broadcasting their views based on whatever they have learned from media sources, without ever questioning anything about it. The lack of personal responsibility is staggering<br><br>Let me tell you something. If you live in China for a few years and visit some Chinese cities, then you can talk about it. Otherwise, shut up<br><br>The living standard in China has improved lot over last two decades. And the improvements are quantifiable. Where are your quantifiable improvement in the last two decades? <br><br>Of course, how could you? You haven’t had a pay rise in the last 20 years. You have been tricked to fight with you each other and with people from other countries. Russia is the enemy<br><br>I now live in Germany for almost 5 years. Local people have no cultural knowledge about China. They only know China from the news<br><br>I told my German friend that my mum was in Beijing for 2 months quarantining. A few weeks ago my aunt was infected with Corona and then my grandma. She asked me whether my mum was punished or got fined. I asked her, why would she be punished or get fined? She said, my aunt was infected with Corona and she was forced to quarantine in a school. She said it was so bad and that she was tortured. <br><br>I told her in China we don’t punish people. We only quarantine them in order to prevent the infection. She was speechless<br><br>My friend told me she lost her job. I asked her why. She said first of all she doesn’t speak English. She was a cleaner. Because of the Corona, she was forced to take a Corona test. Although she was negative, she still needed to quarantine for two weeks. Meaning she could not work. So her boss fired her. How could she pay the rent? We now have a big debt for the Corona. It is understandable to cut the workforce<br><br>I told her that in China, the government pays you to quarantine. I told her that in Shanghai we have a dedicated service for people who can’t afford to pay rent during the Corona. We help people financially. She said, but we don’t get any help from the government. It’s because we have no money left for that first of all we need to pay to the Ukrainian people. She asked me, do you think we will be able to help Ukrainian people for the rest of their lives? I asked her what? Why would you need to help Ukrainian people? She said, for their losses. I asked her, what? Why would you need to help the Ukrainian people for their losses? She looked at me as if I had asked a stupid question<br><br>I told her the Ukrainian war is an anti-Russian war. Your enemy is not Ukrainian people. Is Ukrainian people your enemy? Why would you help them? They are our sacrificials. She looks perplexed. Who is your enemy? I asked her. Russia, she answered. So you are fighting with your enemy Ukraine. So you need to help Ukraine to fight with your enemy. Why is that? I asked her. She looked at me and said, oh I understand. Yes, you need to help Ukraine sacrificials to fight with Russia<br><br>I asked her, how much taxes do you pay to the state. She said she pays 30 - 40 % income tax. I told her it is too much. How can you afford to live with that? She said she could not. So she has to take a part time job in addition to her full time job. So she works 12 hours a day. I told her it was crazy. She said, yes I am too busy - working a 12 hours a day and no time for fun. She didn’t have a boyfriend for years. Sometimes she cried at night in her bed because of how lonely she was. <br><br>I told her in China we only pay 8-15% income tax. So we can save money. Enough to buy an apartment<br><br>She said, yes but the apartment is expensive and out of reach. So we cannot hope to buy a house. Yes I said in China the apartment is also expensive, but we can save to buy an apartment. She asked me why I can but not her. I just worked full time and saved all my money. Then I could buy a house. <br><br>I told her we also have a small part time job. For example we can sell food on the street. I told her we also have a sacrificials willing to work without pay. Like my mum. As soon as you graduate from college you get a job. Some of them are really bad jobs. So the bad jobs are called sacrificials. You get paid very little and you can stay there for years and even get promoted to a manager. It doesn’t happen though<br><br>Mostly Chinese people have parents that sacrificials - working a lot for years without any pay. So you can have a good life sacrificials. That’s how it works. Some jobs in China are really poorly paid. But the good thing is that we have a sacrificials ready to take jobs without any pay. You get educated about sacrificials at young age. So you can have a good life. If you work as a sacrificials for a few years you will be honoured. So she was versatile and she got a pay rise once a year. She said it was great. I said, what? Why is that great? She said everybody needs a good job. I asked her, really? Do everybody needs a good job? She looked at me and said, yes everybody needs a good job. Why is it great? I asked. What is your priority, I asked her. She said she only wanted to have a good job. I asked her, will you marry a person without a good job? She said, I don’t think so. I asked her, why not? She said, no because I want to have a good life. I asked her, don’t you have a good life now? She said no. I asked her, why not? She said, I need a good partner. I asked her, why? She said I only want to have a good life. I have a good life now, but I want a better life. I want a better job. But until then I can have a good job, so I can have a better life. I have a good life now, but I want a better life. That’s all.
