I thought I’d been kidnapped

This happened to me when I was a child, a lot younger than 14 (which is the age I first remember making that post). It reminds me of when my brother happened to be in the right place at the right time, and I thought *he* had kidnapped me, until he confirmed that he truly was my brother. And if I don’t post about this now, I never will. So now I truly understand how your let’s not meet guy waved goodbye to you when you were leaving his house. The karma here is real, and I’m grateful that it was me, who had already experienced this before.

When I was in high school, my friend’s mom picked me up to bring me to their house. I had already met her mom in the past, but I was always confused at to which parent was which. I can’t see very well, and she and her dad look so much alike, as people have pointed out countless times. So when we were in the truck stop, I thought my brother happened to be in the same truck stop. I waved at him in the dining area, and he waved back and came to talk to me. We talked for a few minutes and now I’m just standing outside by the truck. He was confused, because he thought I had gone inside to the bathroom. I waved at him, but he still didn’t see me, which is how I was feeling when the man who picked me up was waving at me. After a few minutes, the man in the dining area waved at me and took off running. He thought I had been kidnapped. It was only later that my friend let him know I was with his mom.

Now that I think about it, this is one of the reasons why I’m so bad at remembering people’s names.
