If you were given the chance to create a world from scratch, how would you design it?

I'm going to assume that when I create this world, I'll be the God of this world and that this world would be habitable by humans.

First thing I'd do is I'd create a solar system similar to ours but with two additional planets in place of the asteroid belt. The reason behind this is that there will be two additional resources for humans to exploit in the future. This means that the resources available to our solar system is now doubled which I believe would allow humanity to reach Type 1 in the Kardashev scale faster.

Second thing I'd do is create a moon that is significantly larger in comparison to the earth. The reason behind this is that a large moon can help stabilise our planet's axis which would lead to a more stable climate and lower probability of natural disasters from occurring. I'd also make the moon tidally locked with the earth.

Third thing I'd do is I'd create oceans similar to earth but only on one side of our planet. I regularly hear that most of the world's population are living near the coast so a planet with oceans all around it doesn't really eliminate the need for trade. The reason why I'd include a landlocked side is to encourage trade and develop more inland cities. If I didn't include a landlocked side then humans would have no need to create cities inland thus negating the need for trade.

Fourth thing I'd do is I'd have 2 continents on the ocean side and three on the landlocked side. The two continents on the ocean side would be similar to North America and the continent of Europe, Africa and Asia combined. The reason why I'd make these two continents so big is that these two continents would take up most of the space regularly occupied by the oceans. The three continents on the landlocked side would be sized similarly to South America, Australia and Greenland. The reason why I'd have 3 continents here is that these 3 continents would take up most of the space that is normally occupied by land on an earth like planet. Thus we have the normal amount of land but most of it has no access to the sea which I believe would lead to more cities being created regularly across the continent.

Fifth thing I'd do is have the normal amount of mountain ranges, forests and rivers across the planet but I'd have a slightly higher amount on the landlocked continents, this would be to make trade more difficult thus making the need for cities to be developed across the continent even higher. I'd also have all the rivers originate from the mountains and end in the oceans, I feel that this would cause trade to take place along the rivers thus cities be created along rivers that are far from the coast.

Sixth thing I'd do is I'd have a similar amount of islands in the planet as the amount of islands we currently have on earth, this would be to prevent humans from traveling across the entire length of the two continents on the ocean side. This would cause cities to be regularly developed across both continents but humans would still have the need for a means of transportation thus leading to ships/bandits/pirates or other means of transportation/trade/war.

Seventh thing I'd do is I'd have a similar amount of weather that we currently have on earth. The only difference I'd add is a combination of the aurora borealis and aurora australis but this time I'd make the light be more pronounced and travel across the entire length of the planet regularly. I'd make the lights represented as fairies by the humans with green fairies traveling in one direction and red fairies traveling in the opposite direction. I'd make it so that if a human ever encountered a fairy nothing would actually happen but fairies would only travel across the land in a similar manner to trade caravans. Thus humans would travel across the entire length of the planet several times not only to trade goods but to be able to witness fairies traveling across the land.

Humans would start in the landlocked side, the reason for this is that humans would exit Africa across the Middle East. So they'd have to travel across the Middle East into Asia and Europe. The reason I'd make them exit from the Middle East is that this area connects 3 continents which makes it the perfect place to trade goods across 3 continents thus making it regularly visited by humans from the 3 continents that make up the ocean side.

Humans would travel from the Middle East into Asia across the Caspian sea and into Europe via the Black Sea. The reason why I'd make humans travel across these seas is that these seas are the only two seas that connect Europe/Asia to the rest of the world with the rest of the seas being landlocked. I'd make humans first exit across the Caspian sea because humans in the Middle East would only see the Caspian and Black sea. Thus they'd only know of the existance of the Caspian and Black sea. Thus travel would first occur across the Caspian sea before humans would travel across the Black sea.

The reason why humans would travel across seas first is that humans across the two continents would develop their cities not only regularly but they'd develop them along the two seas. The cities across the Middle East and Asia would develop along the Caspian sea while the cities across the Middle East and Europe would develop along the Black sea.

Once travel across seas occur then humans would travel along the coast of Asia into the continent of Europe, Africa. The reason why humans would travel along the coast is that humans would want to travel across the shortest amount of distance in order to reach the next continent which would be Europe in this case. They'd reach Europe from Asia and then they'd travel along the European coast until they'd reach the strait of Gibraltar into Africa thus connecting the three continents of Europe, Asia and Africa.

Once travel across the three continents is completed then humans would travel across the two seas along the coast of the three continents. The reason why humans would travel across the seas along the coast is because humans would want to travel across the shortest amount of distance in order to reach the opposite side of the ocean which in this case would be the other continent on the ocean side.

Humans would develop two ports along both seas, one on the landlocked side and the other on the ocean side. The reason why I'd have humans develop two ports instead of three is that three continents is connected to the ocean side while only one continent is connected to the landlocked side. Thus I believe that if a port was developed along the coast of the Middle East then humans would travel along the Middle Eastern coast until they reached the port developed in the Middle East in order to travel to the ocean side which isn't true. Thus I'd make two ports only which would be one on the landlocked side while the other would be on the ocean side.

Humans would travel from the Middle East exit into either the Asian or European port which would be located along the Caspian and Black seas respectively. Then humans traveling from the Asian port would travel across the ocean until they reached the European port while humans traveling from the European port would travel across the ocean until they reached the Asian port.

Thus once humans complete travel across both seas then humans traveling from Asia would not only be able to travel across the three continents but they'd also be able to travel across the two continents on the ocean side. Thus humans from Europe would only have to travel across the Black sea and travel to the Asian port and then they can travel back across the ocean and regularly travel across the two continents on the ocean side. Thus humans from Asia wouldn't have to travel across the entire length of the three continents in order to travel across the two continents on the ocean side.

Thus once travel is completed then humans would be regularly traveling across the entire length of the five continents. Thus cities would be regularly developed across the entire length of the five continents. Thus we now have created a world from scratch with humans regularly traveling and living across the entire length of the planet.
