My friends like to roam around the city but I like to stay inside the hotel

I (28F) have a few friends who like to go out and explore the city when we travel somewhere together as part of a group (5-6 people), but I don’t really like to do that when we travel with a group. I’d say I’m pretty good at planning the travel part, transportation, booking restaurants, checking if the hotel is good etc etc.

But when we’re on a busy trip and really run around a lot to see things, I’d like to take a day or half day to relax, take a good shower, get massages at the hotel (if they have one) or even go to the gym (if the hotel has one).

In the evening, I like to have a drink at the hotel bar or go down to the restaurant for a quick bite, without having to go out of the hotel. I like to come back to my room at a reasonable hour, get a lot of sleep etc etc.

My friends are often like oh but we’re on holiday and it’s so boring to spend time at the hotel. But for me, holiday is about doing the things I like. I’m not really that fond of walking around a new city, I’m not really into history (museums) I don’t enjoy food as much as some of my friends, I’m not a big spender when it comes to shopping.

Maybe like once a day, I’d like to go up to a viewpoint, just to take a picture of the skyline, but that’s about it. So I can feel like I’ve had a bit of city experience.

If I were alone, that would be perfectly fine, but I don’t feel like suggesting my friends stay at the hotel and then they plan their own itinerary for the day. I want to do activities together, and usually it’s a group decision.

So what are your thoughts on this?
