I’m a guy and I feel humiliated that I got beat up last night

Last night my girlfriend wanted to go to the bar. She doesn’t drink but she wanted to be in an environment where people were having fun. Like she was drinking a cup of water.<br><br>We both go to the bar and I order a beer, she orders a water.<br><br>2 hours later, I’ve had about 6 beers and I’m good. I feel buzzed but I can still hold myself together.<br><br>We leave the bar and I head down the block to buy a pack of cigarettes.<br><br>We walk down the block and there’s a group of guys who are clearly drunk outside. As we walk towards them, we have to cross the street to avoid them. They call us over and I say “no thanks guys, we’re good.”<br><br>They say “hey, come here.” And my girlfriend started walking up to them. I didn’t want to be rude so I followed her.<br><br>There was about 5 guys. Apparently they were celebrating a birthday.<br><br>They started asking my girlfriend questions. “How old are you? What’s your name?” Etc etc.<br><br>I was trying to be polite and answer them but they just stared at my girlfriend the whole time.<br><br>I’m 6ft 190 lbs. I work out. I box. I was very confident that I could take them in a fight if things went south.<br><br>Then, my girlfriend says “what’s your name” to one of the guys. And I go to say I’m Joe but this guy justinterrupts me and says “my names Joe.”<br><br>I say “that’s weird, I’m Joe.”<br><br>He says “fuck you, I’m Joe.”<br><br>At this point, my gut tells me something is off and to leave. But my girlfriend just seems to be having a normal conversation. So I decided to stay.<br><br>He goes “fuck you, I’m gonna punch you in the face.”<br><br>I got ready to throw a good left hook but then I was hit in the face. I didn’t even see it coming. I was out cold. When I came to, I was on the ground and my head hurt. Somehow I wasn’t bleeding at all.<br><br>I got up, my arms felt like jello. I could barely move them. I looked for my girlfriend and didn’t see her. I walked down the block to try and find her.<br><br>I found her smoking a cigarette. She was talking to a completely different guy. I went up to them and said “what the hell is wrong with you? Why did you just leave me there like that?”<br><br>She looked shocked that I was mad. She was acting innocent.<br><br>I can’t believe it. I’m just shocked. Like wtf happened. I felt like I was in a movie.<br><br>I’ve never in my life been knocked out. I was ready to throw a punch and this guy just fucking knocked me out. I’m stunned.<br><br>I feel embarrassed. I can’t believe this happened. I keep replaying it in my head. I want revenge, but the guy is gone.<br><br>I just feel disrespected. I can’t even sleep because all I can think about is what happened. I feel like I got emasculated. I feel humiliated. I want revenge. I feel like I need to do something.<br><br>Idk what to do. I feel like I’m going crazy over this. I keep thinking about it. I feel unmanly idk.<br><br>I can’t believe my girlfriend just left me there too lmao.
