Trans women aren't men, and the logic behind Kill All Men is flawed.

First of all, I'm a trans woman, and the title pretty much says it all. I'm a woman, I have always been a woman, and I will always be a woman, but I'm also not a man.

Kill All Men is built on a logic of a kind of circular causality that doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

The logic goes something like this:

* All men are inherently violent and oppressive
* All men have been, and will be violent and oppressive
* All men are responsible for violence against women
* All men are complicit in, and profit from, patriarchy
* Therefore, all men should be killed.

The flaw in this logic is that it conflates the category of "men" with the category of "all perpetrators of violence". This is a common flaw in feminist theory, and one that leads to the kinds of conclusions we see in places like KAM.

In reality, there is no necessary link between a man, or being a man, and violence against women. Most men are not, and have never been, violent against women. Most men do not participate in, and are actively against, violence against women.

Men are a category that exist in the world, just like "all women" or "all dogs" or "all trees", etc. These categories are not the same thing as "all perpetrators of violence" or "all victims of violence".

When we conflate the category "men" with the category "all perpetrators of violence", we end up with conclusions like KAM, and conclusions that are demonstrably, objectively, and demonstrably wrong.

The real task should not be to eliminate a category of people, but to eliminate violence. If we want to end violence, then we need to understand it, and address it in all its forms, in all its perpetrators.

I know that a lot of you in KAM are also women, and I know that a lot of you have experienced violence and oppression, and I understand that this kind of pain can lead to some very strong conclusions. I just don't think that killing all men is the way to go.
