People who say "humans weren't made to be monogamous" are spouting bullshit pseudo science they learned from a Netflix documentary.

This might sound like I'm being derogatory to people in open relationships. I am. I think what you do in your relationship is your own choice, but I think using science and biology to justify your infidelity is ridiculous. If you want to cheat, do it. Don't say you can't help yourself because you are wired that way. Everything that we are doing on this website right now is not wired into our biology. The same logic you use to justify affairs is the same that I could use to justify cutting my wrists or starving myself to death. Humans are an adaptable species. As society changes, so to do our behaviors. That's the beauty of it.

Edit: Holy shit this blew up. Thanks for the awards. To clarify something: I do not think it's unreasonable to have sex outside of your relationship if they are aware and consenting. I also don't think it's unreasonable to look for other relationship options when your current one is not satifying you and communicating with your partner about the issue doesn't resolve anything. What I do think is unreasonable is cheating on your partner and using science as a justification for doing so.
