I mean, I've already complained about this in the past but now it's beyond my comprehension of what it means "tourism".

I'd like to premise that I'm Italian and I paid for my vacation like everybody else... so I didn't just "paid a ticket" and that's it. And that I didn't decide to visit Rome because of the Colosseum, or because I saw it in a movie, but I had to go there for work, and that I visited all these places 10 times at least already, so I can do it in my sleep.

First of all, this was the 4th time in about a year I had to go to Italy and the 3rd time I've been stopped. Yes, stopped. Just because I'm not Italian... not because of my skin color or something, it just happens that I have a EU passport and not an Italian one. I'm just surprised they haven't stamp my passport for the 3rd time.

They pinned me against a wall (me, a 40yo woman, who is 3 months pregnant), took my shoes and belt off (because I was beeping... because of my phone, wallet and keys), took my purse and pulled out every single item in it, hand checked my phone... but it was just the 4th time in a year. I'm sure you do this to every EU national with a residence permit in your country here, I mean I didn't just "paid a ticket" for this?

I did ask why I was being stopped and I got a full on Italian (Southern Italian) angry reply "mind your business, you don't need to know anything, you're not from this country... it's not your place to ask anything".

I frankly don't get what is going on in this country. I'm not Italian, I pay for my ticket, I pay all the taxes... I didn't just "buy a ticket" and it's not my place to ask anything??? I'm not even going to go on about the cost of living there, the fact that you need to ask permission to do anything in life, because you never know who you upset, etc... no, thank you.

I've been to most of the Southern Europe, I've been to many countries in the East and West... but Italy... it's like they're trying to keep everybody out for some bizarre reason.

Also, just to add, I'm not sure any of you guys have ever been in the security controls at Rome Fiumicino airport.. but that line is basically the longest line I've ever seen in an airport and I think it could take about 2-3 hours to get through it. This just concerns me a lot, because in a year or so, when my kid is going to be born... I'm also going to have to go through this. This just makes me sick.
