Food must be trashed if you bring it into an operating room. This is ridiculous

Our hospital recently changed their policies to say that if you bring in food, it must be thrown away 100% of the time before taking a patient back. This has caused countless delays, and it completely wastes food that the anesthesiologists could easily eat after the case is started. It goes against the way an operating room should be run, which is efficiently. I’m sure this is just our hospital, but I thought Id throw this out there.
