How Do You Visualize and Develop Your Maps

Hey everyone, I am strapped for cash at the moment (being a recent college graduate in these times is tough) but, am eager to start developing my worlds. My problem is, I am having a hard time visualizing them. I can describe with detail all the cities, lands, waters, mountains, etc. but, I want a more visualized version than written word. What do you all use to help develop your world maps? It doesn’t matter how basic they are, I just want to get this world out of my head.<br><br>Tldr.
