I work at NASA. If you listen to this for more than 5minutes you will die. I'm not even joking.

I work at NASA. I'm not allowed to disclose too many details about what projects I've worked on or how long I've worked there for, but I decided I'd like to upload this as a warning to people. Feel free to PM me for any details about me working at NASA.

I work on the Apollo project. Before the Apollo 1 crew were scheduled to launch the Apollo 1 command and lunar modules were being thoroughly tested for any issues. It was 1966, Apollo 1 was due to be the first manned mission in 1967.

One of the engineers working on projects for the Apollo 1 command module came up to me and explained an issue he had been having. It was around 9pm and as the Apollo 1 had yet to be launched, there was hardly anyone in the Apollo sector. He asked me if I knew who designed the audio output systems for the communications for everyone on the Apollo 1. I had no idea who that would have been. He explained everyone he had talked to about it so far had no idea who that would have been. There were many people involved in the communications but nobody knew who exactly designed the audio output.

He went on to explain that about a week ago, one of the very high ranked officials at NASA received an audiocassette in the post that had been addressed to him. It was marked very clearly saying that it had to be tested before the Apollo 1 mission could launch. Someone from the agency was given the job of testing it. The only thing we knew about who this man was is that he was an agency worker but wasn't actually assigned to any of the projects and he worked on the Apollo 1 cabin simulator.

He was given the job of testing the cassette by putting in the cabin simulator and playing it for a good 24 hours to see if there were any issues with it. This was around 5 days ago. It was about 3am when he received the job of testing it and by the time he had gotten to the simulator and set up all the necessary equipment to test it, it had been about 4:30am. He put the cassette in the simulator, shut himself in and then you just hear static. All you could hear was static cutting out randomly, but it didn't sound like the old televisions used to sound when there was no signal. The engineers call it "white noise". That's what it sounded like. It had sounded like white noise with occasional cut outs.

Suddenly the static stopped. There was nothing. Complete silence. The man testing the tape didn't say anything. He didn't even cough. The engineers explained there are many microphones inside the cabin simulators so that they can pick up any noises the people inside are saying. The microphones are so good at picking up sounds that they can hear standard human breathing. This man had made no sound. It was dead silence.

They played the audio back during the investigation and you could very clearly here the sound of the tape being rewound after a few minutes of silence. I don't know why the man had rewound the tape. He must have been confused or worried or something and wanted to play it back. There's no logical reason as to why he would rewind it back. Was he checking if it was the cabin simulator itself playing the white noise? No. He must have been simply confused and rewound it.

As I said, the man rewound the tape and then pressed play again. He didn't say anything. Again, there was just static. White noise. After about 5 minutes of the white noise playing, the sound of the tape rewinding could be heard again. This time however, followed by the sound of the man opening the cabin simulator. He stepped outside where one of the security guards was waiting.

"What's going on?" He asked.

"I think I will just go home if that's okay with you." He replied.

"You can't go home until you've completed the task you've been given." The guard replied.

"I don't know. I feel very scared for some reason. I think I might have a panic attack."

"I think you should just tell me what's going on, okay?"

"No, it's fine. I'm going to go home now. I'm going to get off work and I'm just going to go home."

"Sir, please, you have to tell me what's going on."

"No. It's fine. I'm going home now."

"What's wrong sir? I think I should call for - "

The sound of the guard radioing for backup cut out and the audio went dead. The man was never found. A very extensive search was carried out to find him but he had seemingly just gone. The engineers concluded that somehow the tape rewinding, followed my the sound of the cabin simulator opening must have been a red flag, something was wrong.

To confirm that the tape was what had made the man act like that, one of the animals kept at NASA was taken into one of the cabin simulators and the tape was put on a small audiocassette player. The tape was played and after 5 minutes and 6 seconds, the animal began to scream. However, this wasn't a normal scream. It wasn't standard pain induced screaming. It was something different. After I heard the tape, I can only describe it as " painscared". It sounded like the animal was in a lot of pain, but at the same time, it sounded terrified. Petrified.

After a few minutes, the animal let out a very loud shriek, then the muffled sounds of it running around the cabin simulator. One of the engineers explained to me that as the animal had begun to run around the cabin, the cage it was in collapsed. The animal was running around so aggressively that it suddenly just collapsed. The very cheap metal buckled and the animal escaped.

The animal then began to scratch at the door. The noise from it was terrifying. The way it was scratching at the door was so forceful. One of the engineers described it as the most terrifying thing he had ever heard. Imagine an animal, bloodying its own claws scratching at a metal door for hours on end. It didn't stop. It was almost 12 hours before the animal died after the tape had been played.

Later on that day, a very high ranked official came up to me and very seriously asked me not to talk about this to anyone. He explained that if anyone were to hear this tape they would die. Even if they simply hear 1 second of this tape, they would die. Apparently the tape was designed to mess with the very basic functions of the human brain and after a short time, it would begin to erase brain cells and eventually just kill you.

The official took me aside and showed me the cabin simulator where the animal had scratched for hours on end. I saw the blood and claw marks all over the door. It was terrifying. I didn't know what to say. I'm still not sure on my opinion of it now. All I know is that the engineers have made sure nobody will EVER hear that tape. If they do, they will die.

EDIT: PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO UPLOAD THE TAPE. IF I DO, YOU WILL DIE. I'M NOT KIDDING. IT'S NOT A JOKE.
