In 2020 my friend’s stepdad died two days before lockdown so they couldn’t get together in person to console each other. I asked my friend how her mom was doing in one of our first conversations of 2022. Her stepdad had been dead TWO YEARS AGO, not two months ago. What the fuck was going on?
