Throwaway account cause I don't want him to know it's me posting this. I'm a bit worried this will be downvoted cause I'm British but hopefully folks will believe me when I say this is not normal for the UK and I can understand why he's irritated by it.

The Eurostar is a train service between London Kings Cross/ St Pancras and Paris Gare de Nord. My friend was on this journey a couple of weeks ago and got very drunk. He then got off the train at London, however he left his phone and wallet on the table. Understandable, since he was so drunk, and mistakes happen. However, the staff at the train station did not bother to contact him about it.

He contacted them the next day and told them how he lost his phone, and they said sorry but that they could not retrieve it and that the phone was gone. I'm not sure what they actually do with lost and found items, but it disappoints me that they won't even contact passengers if they leave an item behind.

He says he won't use the Eurostar again, and will prefer the Eurotunnel which is a car train from England to France.
