Thank you for the kind words, I’ll be fine. Big weekend in the big city!

Was going to keep matters closed to the breast, but I’ve been having some legal issues I’d like to keep you guys updated about. First, though, I want to say thank you to the people who’ve offered their support via the private messages, I really, really appreciate it. Maybe I’m a nostalgic idiot, but I feel like it’s a time where you could ask someone to do something, and they’ll do it -- I’m in a bit of a difficult financial situation and am feeling quite anxious about my life prospects, but Beth at Bishara reminded me that there’s still many good people in the world.

So my husband, Hillel, and I got married in Israel in November. I’m Canadian, he’s American. We’ve been together for nine years. After a month of getting married, I realized that the country I wanted to live in was Israel. But in order to move, we needed to show that we’d been together longer than a year. We’re newlyweds, and the process to move isn’t over. It’s complicated, and there’s a lot I’m not sharing, but the wedded amateur bumbling in the courts has been as time consuming as it’s been embarrassing. I’m not gonna give any details, but we’ve been having legal issues, and I’ve been communicating with a powerful Israeli official. We’re both passionate about public policy, and we both understand the importance of loving the country, even when it’s backwards. We haven’t given up yet, and are pushing through the bureaucracy with the patience that our mission requires.yun
