I was (almost quite literally) sat on by a stranger

This is mostly a weird story more than a “let’s not meet”, but it could’ve turned into something worse if I hadn’t done what I did.

One time I went to a show with one of my closest friends, “Amanda”. I don’t usually go to live shows because I’ve had bad experiences with crowds and I’m kind of a homebody. But this one was different. It was Amanda’s birthday, I got us good seats near the front, and the performers were all of our favorite artists. I was excited, we had waited a long time for this.

So we’re dancing, having a great time, when I notice this guy just standing right behind me. I think he’s just waiting for someone, and consider moving to another spot so he can sit down. But I don’t want to move, I’ve got a great view where I am and I don’t want to leave my spot when the main act performs. Plus, I think it’s weird to move because you feel like someone’s behind you, but you don’t even know them.

About 10 minutes after that, the guy hasn’t moved. So, I turn behind me, to look at him, and ask him if he’s waiting for someone. He stares at me from a foot away, right in my face, with this dead, emotionless stare, and just says “Yes”. He doesn’t look away, so I look away first.

I think that’s it, until I feel his arms on my waist. Genuinely thinking it’s Amanda, swinging her arms around me because she’s drunk, I try to play it off by swinging my arms around her too. Then I remember that Amanda’s in front of me, dancing. So, I turn behind me again, and there he is, *literally straddling me* with his arms around my waist, pulling me back against him.

We’re in a crowded theater with a lot of people dancing and standing around us, so I wasn’t too afraid, but this was still hella weird and very uncool. I right away tell him to back the fuck off of me. He sort of pouts but he gets off of me and moves somewhere else.

I don’t see him for the rest of the night. It was a great night and I had an awesome time, but it was annoying to have that happen. It’s not something I would forget in a long time, and it was something I’d like to forget.

After the main act, we decide to go to a bar and grab something to eat. As we walk in, we’re greeted by the long-ass line for the bathroom. I’m a little tipsy, Amanda’s the same if not more, and we’re both about to piss ourselves. So, we wait in line.

It’s a little awkward since obviously we can’t talk to each other. But I start to notice that the bathroom line is going really slowly. I’m starting to think someone’s in there doing a really long shit, but then an employee comes out and says that someone had locked themselves in the bathroom. I ask what’s going on, and they say they’ve been “calling maintenance” for the past 15 minutes to get the door open. So, we continue to wait.

After another 15 minutes, another employee comes out and tries to fit a key into the door lock. The weird thing is that the lock doesn’t look like it’s stuck. It looks like there’s a key in the lock from the inside, and she’s trying to fit her key into the lock to open the door along with the key inside the lock.

I ask if there’s no other bathrooms that aren’t locked and blocked, she says no. It’s really weird.

She keeps trying and keeps trying, until finally the door opens. The employee and her co-workers rush in and shut the door behind them. “It’s finally open. Go ahead and go if you really need to,” she says.

I go inside the door and push it open. It’s dark inside, but I can tell there’s someone in there. I go “hey, I need to use the bathroom,” and someone grunts in response.

“Well, are you gonna let me in or not?”

“It’s occupied.”

“Well, when will you be done?”

*No answer*

I’m getting annoyed. I say “I really need to go, so can you please hurry up? Or get out,” and then I reach to turn on the light. As I do, someone grabs my arm and yanks it away from the light switch. I scream and start to wrestle with them.

Then, the lights flicker on. And it’s him. It’s the same emotionless dude from earlier. He didn’t have to go to the bathroom. He locked himself in there so he could *wait* for me. He locked himself in there and waited for an hour. An hour and a half. So he could attack me, or drown me, or God knows what.

I’m really scared, I’m punching and kicking him, I’m calling for help, and then I realize he’s not fighting back. He’s just sitting there smiling, not trying to defend himself, not trying to hurt me, just letting me hit him. It’s probably the weirdest thing that ever happened to me.

I’m eventually able to get him off of me. I get out, tell the employees what’s happening, and they call the police. He gets kicked out, but not arrested. And that was it. The rest of the night went great.

I think about that night a lot. It never stops being weird, and I realize that it’s probably something I’ll never forget.

I don’t know if we’ll ever meet again, emotionless asshole, but I don’t want to.
