I don’t know if this is the coolest thing I’ve ever done but I thought I’d put up a few pictures and see if you all like it

1. I was too lazy to take a shower, so I slept in my hair. My dad, “BILLY BOY THATS THE Slobbiest shit I’ve ever seen.” 2. I’m a 22 year old guy who owns and takes a purse with him into the ocean, so you just have to roll with it. 3. I only found two ocean pictures to put in this order, but the last thing I will mention is I’m a 100 pound guy with a 6 pack of abs, and I wear size REGULAR clothing.

Subreddit is gonna be mad at me I know, but it’s not supposed to be a voodoo doll for you all to beat up on because “I’M NOT LIKE OTHER AMERICANS… Look at this SLOB. WE’RE NOT ALL LIKE THIS GUY”

I’m a 22 Year old guy from Washington, D.C. and this is my story

Sammy 9.27.23

I knew I was going to London for work, and since I’ll be there for 3 months I thought I might as well explore Europe while I’m there. I’ll write a post for each leg of my journey, and I’ll try to tone it down as much as I can so I’m not attacked.

I had a day off so I thought I’d take a bus to Paris and I’ll write my story here, as well as add a few pictures I took along the way

I woke up in London, put on the same clothes I’d been wearing for 2 days, packed a backpack my dad had used when he was my age, and took the London Underground to my bus

My bus left around 7am, and I barely made it because… Well you’ll see, the pictures speak for themselves. Not a good look

I had 2 pounds, just over 2 USD, and all of my credit cards. This was my breakfast, along with a 16 ounce bottle of wine I had leftover from the day before

I got on the bus, and it took me to the ocean. It was something I’d never done before, and I really didn’t know what to expect. The bus was empty, except for two 30 year old women who looked like they had been with their men for 8-10 years and were getting in one more girl trip before the kids came… A 35 year old man and his 2 year old daughter, who would come up again later, and a few other random people. It was a quiet bus, and I’m a quiet guy so it was a nice ride. I slept on and off, listened to music, and got off and explored when we stopped for gas

We got to the coast after a couple hours, and there was a small ferry

We just parked our cars on the ferry, and walked up to the deck

I knew I’d be gone for 24 hours, so I figured I’d try to take a nap on the deck

They had a bar on the deck, so I thought I’d drink my wine and try to sleep. I did this for maybe an hour, but the weather had turned cold so I gave up. I went inside to warm up and the 4 of us started to bond as our group

The two 30 year olds had been friends since they were my age, and this was their “last girl trip.” Why… Because they were both getting ready to have kids. Okay, that’s fine, but how are you going to have kids if you don’t have a man? They both had husbands, and they were friends with the husbands, but they didn’t know each other. I asked them if they had been on any dates, and the first one said she had been with her man for 8 years and thought they might have a kid in a year or two. The second one laughed and said she had been with her man for 10 years, and we’re going to have a kid in a year or two. I thought it was weird, but okay. The 35 year old was talkative, and I quickly learned that we both loved The Sopranos. He had a 2 year old daughter with him, but no wife. Weird, but I figured she was probably at work

We crossed the English Channel, which meant we were now in Europe, but we still had a long way to go before we got to Paris. It was all good though, I had gotten through the hardest part, and now it was smooth sailing

We got to the other side of the English Channel, and we had to wait to get on the bus. This is the bus station

And this is the bus we went on

I sat in the same seat I had been in for 12 hours now, and we got to Paris just in time to see the Eiffel Tower light up

I told my friends goodbye, and thanked them for getting me through the trip. I took a train to the airport and looked for the cheapest hotel… But I did have a few hours to kill

France is so cool, I can’t wait to go back

I didn’t think I’d be able to get in with the street clothes I had on, but I gave it a shot

They let me in, and I had a drink

I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner on my bus, so I only had 25 USD to spend for dinner… But the steak was so good

I stayed at the hotel, then took the train back to the bus station the next day to get back on the bus

I was happy… But I did miss my Sopranos friend

I had 950 USD remaining… But I wanted to spend less than 500 so I could keep the costs to 250 USD per day… So I’m told.

I got to the city and took a train to the river, then I walked across the river and found a light show

I had to pick a restaurant, and somehow I picked a good one. My meal consisted of a bottle of wine, steak, and chicken. And it was delicious

I only had 700 USD left, but I knew I’d be fine… I didn’t have many expenses. I had 1 night at the hotel remaining, but that was only 100 USD. I still had to get my bus back to London, train to the airport, and train back to London… But I could do all of that for under 150 USD, so I had enough for 2 more nights. I just needed to find a place to stay. I walked and walked around the city, and I was having a hard time finding a place to stay. But I was having a blast.

I ran into this US military guy, and we took a picture

I ran into this US military guy, and we took a picture

I kept walking, and eventually I started to get hungry. I was tired, I didn’t have any money, I was alone and a thousand miles from home, and I hadn’t showered in 3 days…. But I was having a blast

I found a sandwich shop, and then a few blocks away they had this market. It was really cool, and it was a great place to get some rest… But it was a little scary

I saw this one booth at the market and the lights drew me in. I thought it was a bar but it was actually a…….

I took a shot of whatever they had, and I took a picture

The sandwhich was delicious and I was having a great time, but a night out in Paris is expensive… So I had to start cutting corners

My 2 year old friend was still with me, so I showed him the river… But I did have to hold him up so he could see. I thought it was important, because who knows when he’ll ever see the river in Paris again… But the mom was getting mad. I said, “sir I can’t hold your son up anymore, I’ve been drinking and I’m getting tired. Why isn’t his mom here? He’s 2, he still needs a bottle… And a nap. I don’t know what you’re doing, but you’re not being a very good dad to this kid.”

I’m sorry if I offended anyone, but I hope you can see I was just looking out for the kid.

I kept walking… But I did stop to take a 30 minute nap

I had explored Paris, and I was having a great time. I found a bar, and was sitting down at a table to have a drink when “BILLY BOY something is in your hair. Why… Is that an entire fucking sprig of Rosemary? How does a SLOB like you even make it this far in life?”

I had to think fast, so I pulled out all the right words… And got in a fight with my dad. So I thought I’d better get out of there

I still had nowhere to stay, and I had no money… So I thought I’d just keep walking. Paris was great, and I was having a great time. I walked for what felt like hours, and somewhere along the way I found a park. I had a bottle of wine, a blanket, and I was tired… So I thought I’d just take a nap

I had spent the whole day walking, and I had barely slept in days so I was tired. I slept for a few hours, and I thought that would get me through the rest of the night. I was bored, so I thought I’d just walk around. There was a
